International Mission of Our Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Karaosmanoğlu
ITU Faculty of Management faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Karaosmanoğlu has been elected as European Marketing Academy’s (EMAC) Vice-President for Conferences. Assoc. Prof. Elif Karaosmanoğlu became the first Turkish academic elected to the committee and will serve for three years.

ITU Faculty of Management faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Karaosmanoğlu has been elected as European Marketing Academy’s (EMAC) Vice-President for Conferences. Assoc. Prof. Elif Karaosmanoğlu became the first Turkish academic elected to the committee and will serve for three years.

EMAC (European Marketing Academy)
The European Marketing Academy (EMAC) is a professional society for people involved or interested in marketing theory and research established in 1975. The purpose of the European Marketing Academy is to provide a society for persons professionally concerned with or interested in marketing theory and research. Its aims are to serve as the core of a communication network for disseminating information and promoting international exchange in the field of marketing. At present, the Academy has over 1000 members from more than 50 different countries in all five continents.
Biography
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Karaosmanoğlu is graduated from ITU MAnagement Engineering Department in 1998. She completed her masters in Management (in English) in Marmara University (2001) and took her PhD in Business and Industrial Studies from Warwick Business School (UK) (2001) as a YOK Scholarship Fellow. She pursued research projects in University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business (2013-2014) as a Fulbright Visiting Scholar (2013-2014) and in SKEMA Business School as a French Embassy of Turkey Visiting Scholar. She acted as the Vice-dean for Academic Affairs of the ITU Faculty of Management between 2010 and 2012. Her research interests involves the application of quantitative methods for studying consumer behaviour in corporate brand communication, social responsibility and consumer ethics, co-creation in services, consumer-technology interactions areas. She is currently one of the Editorial Board members of Journal of Product and Brand Management. She has served as the Turkey representative in EMAC Executive Committee between 2010 and 2016 and chaired the EMAC 2013 annual conference in İstanbul. In May 2021, she has been elected as the EMAC Vice-president of Conferences of EMAC. She is the first Turkish academic who has been elected to serve in the Steering Committee of EMAC between 2021 and 2024.
