ITU is the Leader in Turkey in 7 Fields of the URAP Ranking
Istanbul Technical University (ITU) is in the first row in Turkey in a total of seven fields of the ranking announced by the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) research laboratory.

In the 2020-2021 field ranking prepared by the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) research laboratory of the METU Informatics Institute to draw attention to the strengths and aspects that need to be developed of the universities, the best universities in the world were listed according to a total of 62 science fields. Universities were evaluated according to their academic performance of the last five years, taking into account the articles and citations produced in the scientific fields.
ITU is in the first row in engineering
In the 2020-2021 field ranking prepared by the METU Informatics Institute URAP Laboratory to draw attention to the strengths and aspects that need to be developed of universities, our university ranked first in Turkey in seven fields.
As a result of the evaluation made on a field basis in the ranking, which includes three thousand universities worldwide, ITU showed outstanding success in engineering, aerospace engineering, civil engineering, artificial intelligence, geology, earth sciences, and mechanical engineering and ranked first among Turkish universities.
World universities competed
In URAP's ranking covering 62 fields of science, universities from 90 different countries took part in at least one field ranking this year. While China's 277 universities were included in at least one field ranking, the number of universities from the USA that entered at least one ranking remained at 250. Japan followed China and the USA with 106 universities.
Chinese universities ranked first in 21 of the 62 fields in URAP's field ranking, and US universities in 19 of them. With this ranking, China ranked first in the world in 21 science fields for the first time this year, pushing the USA to second place.
