Mediterranean Geosciences Union (MedGU) Meeting was Held at ITU

The first meeting of the geosciences society Mediterranean Geosciences Union (MedGU), which brings together scientists from Mediterranean countries, was held on 25-28 November at Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center of Istanbul Technical University.

The first meeting of Mediterranean Geosciences Union (www.medgu.org) chaired by our faculty member Prof. Dr. Attila Çiner from ITU Eurasia Institute of Earth Sciences met with great interest by more than 200 scientists from 65 countries and about 250 online participants.

In the meeting which started with the opening speech of the founder of the Mediterranean Geosciences Union from Springer Publishing, Dr. Nabil Khelifi, various issues related to earth sciences of the Mediterranean basin and surrounding countries were discussed in depth.

It is expected that the articles selected from the presented papers will be published in the Springer Nature journal Mediterranean Geoscience Reviews, which was decided be the official publication of the meeting and whose editor-in-chief is Prof. Dr. Attila Çiner.
