“2021 Turkey Efficiency Project Award” to Our Faculty Member

“2021 Turkey Efficiency Project Awards” organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Technology were given to their owners. The project titled “Development of New Grinding Technologies for Ceramic Industry - Efficiency Grinding Technology”, in which our faculty member Prof. Dr. Hasan Ergin participates, won an award.

Prof. Dr. Hasan Ergin from Istanbul Technical University received an award for his project titled “Development of New Grinding Technologies for Ceramic Industry - Efficiency Grinding Technology” realized in cooperation with Mining Engineering Department, Kaleseramik Çanakkale Kalebodur Seramik Sanayi A.Ş. and Remas Makine Redüktör Sanayi A.Ş. In the Research and Development category of the competition, in which 468 projects were evaluated, the project supervised by our faculty member won the first prize.

Turkey Efficiency Project Awards are given to the projects performed by universities, enterprises operating in industry and service sectors, and public institutions.  Thematic areas are aimed at improving the quality of products or services; increasing the performance of business processes, increasing the efficiency of raw materials, materials, energy, capital and human resources;  increasing the profitability of the business or reducing its costs and  improving the quality of working life.

“2021 Efficiency Project Awards” presentation ceremony organized by Strategic Research and Efficiency General Directorate was held on December 17, 2021 at Bilişim Vadisi with the participation of the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank. We congratulate our award-winning faculty member and wish him continued success.

About Prof. Dr. Hasan Ergin

Prof. Dr. Hasan Ergin graduated as a Mining Engineer from Istanbul Technical University in 1986. He completed his Ph.D. in England between 1988-1994. He has been doing scientific and technological research since 1988 in cement, ceramic and aerated concrete building materials areas. He has also developed novel micro grinding technology and some innovative solutions for waste treatment, energy savings, emission reduction and sustainable production process for ceramic and aerated concrete industries. He has been working at Mining Engineering Department of Istanbul Technical University since 1995. He has published more than 80 articles and 2 books and he is also co-editor of a Symposium book.
