ITU Continues to Rise in the Webometrics World University Rankings!

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) ranked in the 567th place in the Webometrics World University Rankings by rising 23 steps compared to the previous year.

ITU, which ranks 567th in the Webometrics World University Rankings this year, rose 23 steps compared to the previous year. It is among the top 3 Turkish universities. This year, the ranking which covers more than 30 thousand universities worldwide, lists a total of 12 thousand universities.

The primary objective of Webometrics is to promote open access to knowledge generated by universities. The best strategy for universities to improve their rank is to increase the quantity and quality of their web content. Number of pages belonging to the university, rate of different external links to the university’s site, total number of files on the site and documents in Google Academic that refer to the websites of the university are used as criteria.
