Training and Collaboration Protocol Signed Between ITU and Ford Otosan
In the context of university-industry collaboration, a training protocol was signed with Ford Otosan. Within the protocol called "Electric Vehicles Training Program," ITU academicians will train company employees.

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) breaks new ground by collaborating with Ford Otosan and starting the Electric Vehicles Training Program for Ford Otosan employees with the awareness of its role as a locomotive in industrialization. The program, which will be carried out jointly by ITU and Ford Otosan, is a means of progress from the basic level to three different technical levels related to electric vehicles. Before this, a common language will be created by transferring knowledge about technological developments and occupational safety regarding electric vehicles and batteries from Ford Otosan to ITU academicians who are experts in their fields.
With the protocol signed by ITU Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu İsmail Koyuncu and Ford Otosan General Manager Güven Özyurt, the company employees are going to be given training on electric vehicles at different levels.
ITU's 250 years of knowledge
Our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu emphasized the 250 years of knowledge accumulation of Istanbul Technical University. He said Istanbul Technical University presented the country's most important examples of university-industry cooperation. "ITU continues its studies with an interdisciplinary method in different fields owing to the well-recognized role as the locomotive of industrialization.", he added.
Prof. Dr. Koyuncu continued his words: "With the Electric Vehicles Training Program that started between Ford Otosan Türkiye and ITU, we are going to try to convey our knowledge and field experience on electric vehicle and battery technologies. Thanks to this program, we are going to exchange information that requires basic knowledge as well as advanced expertise about the field in step with the opportunity to observe the actual needs of the sector likewise working and thinking about new technologies as an R&D center."
Ford Otosan General Manager Güven Özyurt: "We are preparing our colleagues for the future with this program."
Ford Otosan General Manager Güven Özyurt stated that the Electric Vehicles Training Program resulted from Ford Otosan's mission to lead the electric transformation of the automotive industry. He underlined that they would also pioneer in developing human resources and preparing them for the future.
"Through our collaboration with ITU, we are ensuring the sustainability of the design, product development, and production processes in our sector by supporting the career of our colleagues. Furthermore, we are investing in production and the new-generation electric commercial vehicle projects. We have always brought the technologies of the future to our customers before our competitors by our aims. We always aim to benefit society with our products and services. We are going to continue to invest, produce and provide our employees with competencies by foreseeing the future evolution of the automotive industry before anyone else.", Özyurt said.
