ITU is the Preference of Top Students Again!
Istanbul Technical University continues to be the first choice of students who are ranked highest according to the results of the 2022 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS). Turkey’s first in numerical score type preferred ITU, just like last year.

Turkey's first technical university ITU continues to be the primary choice of students who are ranked highest according to the results of the 2022 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS). Turkey’s first in YKS 2022 numerical score type preferred ITU, just like last year.
Achieving one of the biggest preference breakthroughs of recent years, Istanbul Technical University has recruited a total of 98 students from the top 1000 according to the 2022 YKS results. According to this year’s YKS results, ITU was preferred by a total of 98 students from the top 1000, including 7 students from the top 100 and 38 students from the top 500. In 2021, this number was 48.
ITU is Always the Preference of Top Students!
Bahadır Selim Bakla from Kayseri ranked first in Turkey in the numerical score type according to the results of the 2022 Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS). Bahadır Selim Bakla preferred ITU Computer Engineering department.
In 2022, more than half of the students who won ITU had ITU in their first three preferences. While the top five most preferred departments are Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering, Economics, Industrial Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering, it is noteworthy that all the students of ITU Computer Engineering Department are from the top 1000.

Stating that during the 2022 YKS preference period intense promotion activities were carried out with the motto “Be an ITU Student”, our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu said, “Especially for the last two years, ITU has been the primary choice of our students who ranked in YKS thanks to our intensive promotions. While we had only 8 students from the top 1000 in 2020, we increased this number to 48 in 2021with an intense effort. This year, with a great breakthrough, we have welcomed a total of 98 students from the top 1000 to the ITU Family.”

Expressing that ITU is one of the universities with the highest graduate employment rate, Prof. Dr. Koyuncu proceeded as follows: “ITU is also the university with the highest number of accreditations in Turkey... Accreditations such as ABET, NAAB, IMO, IFLA prove that the education to be received at ITU is at an international level. “ITU Achievement Awards” will support students’ education
Within the scope of the ITU Achievement Awards for the 2022-2023 Academic Year, “ITU Achievement Award” will be given for 5 years, including the preparatory period, to students who ranked in the degrees determined on the basis of the score of the department they are placed in the 2022 YKS results and enrolled in ITU undergraduate programs. Students ranked in the top 100 in Turkey will receive 5 thousand TL, students ranked 101-500 will receive 4 thousand TL, and students ranked 501-1000 will receive 3 thousand TL success scholarship for 12 months. In addition, students ranked in the top 1000 will be provided with opportunities such as language education abroad, laptop computers, and dormitory accommodation. In addition to the Achievement Award, ITU also offers students need scholarships, food scholarships, sports scholarships and dormitory scholarships.
