ITU graduates continue to gain prominence with their achievements in our country and around the world. With “Türkiye’s  50 Most Influential Technology Leaders" research conducted by the Business Management Institute (BMI) Business School Istanbul in collaboration with DataExpert, managers who shape technology in our country were listed in 2023 for the first time.

Technology-functional leadership for sustainability

The 2023 “50 Most Influential Technology Leaders” ranking stresses the increasing importance of functional leadership today. This research was conducted by reaching the top technology executives of more than 300 organizations out of about 800 organizations and companies.

The leaders have also changed in the world transformed by the pandemic

The list was prepared by excluding organizations operating in the field of informatics (service, hardware, software) in order to create equal competitive conditions. In the evaluation, where candidates were included on a voluntary basis, parameters such as performance and work experience were taken into account, as well as the pandemic process. Moreover, the responsibilities assumed by technology executives and the changes they went through during the Covid-19 pandemic that affected the world were also decisive.

At the end of the rigorous evaluation and voting made by an advisory board composed of academics and experts from universities, non-governmental organizations and the private sector, the 50 most effective technology leaders in our country were selected.

ITU graduates shaping technology in Türkiye

15 of our graduates were included in the list of “50 Most Influential Technology Leaders”. ITU graduates who shape Türkiye's technology in sectors such as retail, pharmaceuticals, and consumer durables can be viewed in the list below.

It is striking that our graduates on the list of technology leaders have the common denominator of being graduates of departments that combine basic science fields like mathematics and physics with engineering. This was interpreted as an indicator of the increasing importance of basic sciences in today’s technology trends, in which concepts such as artificial intelligence are gaining weight.

The lists, which takes into account the change of leaders, represents some of the reflections of the successful results of education given by ITU with the goal of transforming the future.

The awards will be presented to their owners at the Technology Leaders Summit 2023, which will be held at Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus on Monday, 20 March. Click here for detailed information about our graduates in the list of the most influential technology leaders.

We congratulate our graduates and wish them continuing success.
