World Championships from ITU Club and Project Teams
In ITU’s 250th year, our Club and Project Teams successfully represented our university and our country in international competitions and achieved many championships and degrees.

As Istanbul Technical University celebrates its 250th anniversary, it continues to achieve successes in sports, arts and scientific fields. A total of seven club and project teams successfully represented our country and our university in various fields in international competitions they participated in. Competing in different fields such as architectural design, dance, engineering, aviation and maritime in different parts of the world, our teams returned from everywhere they went by winning championships and degrees.
* Our team participated in AUVSI SUAS, the world’s most prestigious unmanned aerial vehicle competition held in the USA, again this year and won the first place among 72 teams.
*ITU ATA Team became the world champion in IMechE UAS Challenge organized by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in the UK.
* Our Vefa Aviation Team became the best performing and highest scoring Turkish team in the IREC Competition and ranked 6th by achieving a successful launch and recovery.
* ITU Lagari Thrust Rocket Team achieved the competition’s best flight performance score by making a rocket launch to an altitude of 9,991 feet in the 10,000 feet altitude category.
* ITU ROV Team participated in the TAC Challenge competition held in Norway and ranked third, becoming the first Turkish ROV team at university level to compete in open sea.
* ITU Dance Club won the first place in the Show Latin category of the World of Dance Türkiye Competition held in Istanbul with the participation of judges and dancers from all over the world.
* ITU Seismic won the third place in 2023 EERI SDC in architecture and communication categories, by achieving the best rankings among the teams from ITU so far.
