Protocol between ITU MIAM and Dolby Institute

Istanbul Technical University Dr. Erol Üçer Center for Advanced Studies in Music (ITU MIAM) took its music studies to the next level with the protocol signed with Dolby Institute.

ITU, the university of firsts, achieved another first while celebrating its 250th anniversary. As a result of the protocol signed between ITU and Dolby Institute, Istanbul Technical University Dr. Erol Üçer Center for Advanced Studies in Music (ITU MIAM) became the first and only Turkish university to cooperate with Dolby Institute.

Under this protocol, both students and academics will become part of an international information and communication network of professional studios and universities.

ITU MIAM Sound Recording Studio control room, which has been serving our country’s music industry for recording and production as well as education since 2000, was made ready for three-dimensional sound productions with the intense efforts of ITU graduate students and academic staff, and became the first and only Dolby certified studio among the universities in our country after being calibrated by the Dolby field team. As part of the work carried out at ITU MIAM, following the completion of the three-dimensional sound laboratory, MIAM’s main recording studio was reorganized to support Dolby Atmos format.

With this protocol, ITU MIAM has become Türkiye’s most qualified studio in terms of three-dimensional sound and recording technology.
