2023 IEEE Türkiye Doctoral Thesis Award to Our Graduate

ITU Telecommunications Engineering PhD program 2022 graduate Dr. Olfa Ben Yahia was deemed worthy of 2023 IEEE Türkiye Doctoral Thesis Award for her thesis.

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) is redefining engineering with the achievements of its students and graduates in the academic area. Dr. Olfa Ben Yahia, who graduated in 2022 by successfully completing the Telecommunications Engineering PhD program under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Güneş Karabulut Kurt and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eylem Erdoğan, won the 2023 IEEE Türkiye Doctoral Award.

Award for promising scientists

Dr. Ben Yahia was deemed worthy of IEEE Türkiye Doctoral Award given to promising young scientists for her thesis titled “Physical layer security performance of satellite networks”.

Our graduate Dr. Ben Yahia’s thesis had also been deemed worthy of 2022 Outstanding Doctoral Award given within the scope of ITU Best Graduate Thesis Awards Directive and her award was presented by our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu at the 250th Anniversary Doctorate Graduation Ceremony.

Dr. Olfa Ben Yahia

Dr. Olfa Ben Yahia received her Telecommunications Engineering degree in 2016 from University of Sfax in Tunis and completed her PhD in ITU Telecommunications Engineering program between 2017-2022. Dr. Ben Yahia’s research interests include wireless communications, performance analysis of physical layer security, space networks, unmanned aerial vehicle platforms, and free-space optical communications.
