Remarkable Achievements from ITU at Izmir TEKNOFEST

The aerospace and technology festival TEKNOFEST opened its doors to visitors at Izmir Çiğli Airport between 27 September and 1 October. ITU students were awarded for their achievements in the technology and entrepreneurship competitions held as part of the festival.

Istanbul Technical University students also took part in TEKNOFEST, the aerospace and technology festival held at Izmir Çiğli Airport between 27 September and 1 October. ITU students were awarded for their achievements in the technology and entrepreneurship competitions organized as part of the festival, which hosted various activities including air shows, educational workshops, air and land vehicle exhibitions, and simulation experience areas.

Best entrepreneurship award for “Adaptive Sound Shield” project

Öznur Çakır Aydoğan, our master’s student at ITU Faculty of Architecture, was awarded as the best enterprise in the field of “Environment, Energy and Climate Technologies” in the TEKNOFEST Entrepreneurship Competition, in which she participated with her sound data interactive dynamic adaptive facade module system project called “Adaptive Sound Shield”, which received an invention patent with examination in 2022.

“Beespenser” project will speed up the circuit board prototyping process

The “Beespenser” project, prepared by a group of five ITU students and graduates (Elif Can, Kadir Berat Yıldırım, Kaan Yapıcı, Yaren Özdemir and Ömer Faruk Güleç) was selected as the “Best Startup” in the “Environment, Energy and Climate Technologies” category of the Pre Take-Off Entrepreneurship Competition organized as part of TEKNOFEST. 

Thanks to the award-winning project, which aims to carry out circuit board prototyping processes in a more sustainable way, it will be possible to obtain printed circuit boards in the laboratory environment in as little as one hour.
