60 ITU Academics in the World’s Most Influential Scientists List

This year, 60 academics from ITU were included in the list of the world’s most influential scientists, prepared annually through the cooperation of Stanford University and Elsevier. In the “career-long impact” category, 66 names from ITU were included.

The list of the world’s most influential scientists, prepared annually through the collaboration of Stanford University and the Netherlands-based scientific publishing company Elsevier, was published in the two categories of “Annual Impact” and “Career-Long Impact”. The rankings were made based on objective criteria such as number of high-quality publications, number of citations, number of patents, h-index and hm-index of academics.

The work and publications of 210,000 scientists were scrutinized for the “Annual Impact” ranking. In the list including 1395 scientists from Türkiye, 60 names from Istanbul Technical University were included. Thus, ITU entered the list as the top university from Türkiye with the highest number of academics. In the list of the world’s most influential scientists, there were 5 academics from ITU in the top 100, 20 in the top 500, and 35 in the top 1000 according to the field ranking. 

66 ITU academics in Career-Long Impact

66 ITU academics were included in the “Career-Long Impact” list, which was prepared by evaluating the works published by 204,000 academics in the last five years. According to the field ranking in this category, there were 4 scientists in the top 100, 7 in the top 200, 20 in the top 500, and 40 in the top 1,000.
