“The Power of Academy” Award to Our Faculty Member

Maritime Faculty member, TÜBİTAK MAM President and Polar Research Institute Director Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy was awarded “The Power of Academy” Award in Türkiye’s Power Awards organized by MÜSİAD.

Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy, known for her international studies in the field of polar sciences, won the “Power of Academy” Award at Türkiye’s Power Awards organized by MÜSİAD as part of its 34th anniversary. Prof. Dr. Özsoy, President of TÜBİTAK MAM and Director of the Polar Research Institute, is notable for her valuable contributions to the coordination and field work of the Arctic and Antarctic Science Expeditions, and her efforts in bringing Türkiye’s scientific research in the poles to a significant level.

Our faculty member Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy was presented the “Power of Academy” Award at the award ceremony organized by MÜSİAD at Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) on May 9. Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, who presented the award, emphasized the importance of the National Technology Move and the achievements of figures such as Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy in carrying the dreams of Turkish children beyond the horizon.

The ceremony was attended by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ICOC) President Şekib Avdagiç as well as businesspeople.
