Design Optimization Seminar at ITU

“Design Optimization” Lecture Series, organized by NATO Science and Technology Organization, was hosted by ITU at Ayazağa Campus SDCC on July 8-9, 2024.

“Multi-Fidelity Methods for Multidisciplinary Design Optimization AVT-385 Lecture Series”, hosted by Istanbul Technical University and organized by NATO Science and Technology Organization, Applied Vehicle Technology Panel, brought together engineers, researchers, academics and graduate students at ITU Ayazağa Campus, Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center on July 8-9, 2024.

At the opening of the program, our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu emphasized the international interaction area that engineering sciences has currently gained, drew attention to the increase of opportunities for accessing the global scientific knowledge, pointed out the positive effects of scientific events that bring together world academics on academic interaction and said the following:

“As is well known, the design process of systems, models and products in engineering fields should be developed to achieve the best performance. Of course, one of the main goals of this optimization process is to reduce design cost and time. In this regard, it is of great importance to integrate multi-fidelity methods into the design process. I believe that the lectures to be given here at Istanbul Technical University, which is Türkiye’s first engineering education institution, will create a productive environment of knowledge and experience in the relevant disciplines.”

At the international event, which took place under the direction of our Department of Astronautical Engineering faculty member Prof. Dr. Melike Nikbay, academic lectures on design optimization were given by world academics for two days.
