Sustainability Commissions Award Ceremony at ITU

Sustainability Commissions Award Ceremony held on July 10, 2024 brought together those interested in the field at the ITU Ayazağa Campus SDCC Senate Hall.

Istanbul Technical University Sustainability Commissions Award Ceremony was held on July 10, 2024 at ITU Ayazağa Campus, Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center. At the ceremony held due to the global success of our university which took the 34th place in the overall ranking according to the results of THE 2024 Impact Rankings, ITU academics were awarded certificates for their contributions to the scientific knowledge of our country with their studies in the field of sustainability.

At the opening of the ceremony, our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu emphasized that ITU is Türkiye’s greenest and most environmentally friendly academic education institution, underlined the innovative solutions developed and the concrete steps taken by our university in the field of sustainability, and said the following:

“This year, Istanbul Technical University has further strengthened its position among the world’s leading universities in the field of sustainability. Of course, our sustainability commissions and esteemed academics, who have conducted high-impact studies with great idealism and a determined work pace, played a major role in achieving this success. Therefore, I congratulate each and every member of our university, who has carried out extremely important work at ITU towards building a future at peace with nature.”

At the event, which included a general evaluation of THE 2024 Impact Rankings, plans for our university’s new term activities in the field of sustainability were shared with the participants.
