On the Transformative Role of Artificial Intelligence in Education with ITU CEE

ITU Center for Excellence in Education continues to support innovative approaches in education. ITU Co-Learning Lab/ Artificial Intelligence Event will take place on May 29-30, 2025!

News: İTÜ Media and Communication Office

First organized in 2024, ITU Co-Learning Lab’s first thematic application, ITU Co-Learning Lab/ Artificial Intelligence, aims to explore the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education. It aims to promote the integration of AI into pedagogical processes by highlighting best practices and success stories. This event will provide an interdisciplinary platform for academics, students, researchers and alumni to interact and share knowledge and experience on AI-enabled learning and teaching.

What happened at the Co-Learning Lab 2024?

eld for the first time on September 25-26, 2024, the event introduced innovative learning and teaching approaches to the ITU ecosystem with the Current Trends in Education and From Theses to Learning Stations sections. The event fostered knowledge sharing between students, academics, and alumni, creating a strong link between education and research. You can access the Extended Summary Book, where the good practices presented at the Co-Learning Lab 2024 are published. For the first time, this themed event will build on the aims and outcomes of the Co-Learning Lab 2024 and delve deeper into the role of AI in education.

What To Expect at ITU Co-Learning Lab/ Artificial Intelligence?

The event will consist of three main parts to explore the transformative power of artificial intelligence in education:

Section 1: Implementation of AI in Education

Case studies, success stories, and current AI-supported teaching tools for the use of artificial intelligence in educational environments will be introduced.

Section 2: From Theses to AI- Enhanced Learning Experiences

In this section, which focuses on transforming graduate research into AI-based educational solutions, students will have the opportunity to share their work with the ITU ecosystem and transform it into educational experiences for ITU students.

Section 3: From Interdisciplinary Research to Education

Collaboration between research groups and educators will be encouraged by presenting examples of the integration of artificial intelligence applications into educational processes in different disciplines.

ITU CEE aims to turn this event into an international organization through networks such as EELISA European University, European Society for Engineering Education (SEFI), European Schools of Advanced Engineering Education and Research (CESAER) and International Engineering Managers (T.I.M.E. Association).

The event will be held bilingually in English and Turkish on May 29-30, 2025 at ITU Computer and Informatics Faculty Conference Hall. For application and detailed information, you can visit the Co-Learning Lab/AI web page.

ITU CEE invites all our academics, students and researchers to participate in this important event.
