Honorary Doctorate to Our Graduate Nail Olpak
Nail Olpak, 1983 graduate of ITU Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, was awarded an honorary doctorate at a ceremony held at the ITU Ayazağa Campus Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center on October 23.

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) conferred an honorary doctorate on Nail Olpak, 1983 graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, at a ceremony held at ITU Ayazağa Campus, Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center, on November 23, 2023.
After a musical concert performed by Istanbul Technical University TMSC, our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu made a speech to the participants, in which he mentioned the contributions of our graduate Nail Olpak to our country.
Our Rector explained the reason for the honorary doctorate as follows: “As a result of the decision taken by the Senate of our University, we are proud to confer upon Nail Olpak an honorary doctorate diploma ‘In recognition of his efforts towards the development and global recognition of industrial activities in Türkiye and his contributions to the economic growth of domestic enterprises by opening to the world market’”.

DEİK President Nail Olpak expressed his happiness by saying, “It is very nice to have graduated from the university of my dreams, the Technical University, and to be honored like this today.” Olpak dedicated his honorary doctorate to the memory of his daughter who passed away 30 years ago.
Who is Nail Olpak?
Olpak started his higher education at Istanbul Technical University, and after graduating from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, he completed his master’s at Yıldız Technical University with his work in the field of “energy”.
Olpak attracted attention with the contacts and partnerships he established with companies with global brand value and his commercial success both at home and abroad.
In addition to his ongoing career as senior executive in various companies, Olpak also served as the President of MÜSİAD for the 5th term. Nail Olpak is currently serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of DEİK.
