Bee2B University-Industry Cooperation Meetings Started

ITU faculty members met with company representatives at the first “Bee2B University-Industry Cooperation Meeting” held at Ayazağa Campus Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center on May 17, 2024.

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) hosted the first of the Bee2B University-Industry Cooperation Meetings, taking university-industry cooperation to the next level. The first Bee2B University-Industry Cooperation Meeting, organized by 1773 ITU TTO at SDCC on May 17, brought together academics and industrialists around the same table for sustainable collaborations in R&D projects.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, our Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Deniz stated that ITU provides solutions to the needs of the country’s industry with 2277 academics, 108 undergraduate and 188 graduate programs, 37,000 students, and 153,000 m2 laboratory infrastructure. In this regard, he shared the information that more than 1200 university-industry cooperation projects, 458 patent applications, and more than 600 trainings and events have been realized through our Technology Transfer Offices at ITU since 2013.

Solutions to R&D problems

At the meeting held at ITU, company officials had the opportunity to meet face to face with ITU faculty members in order to bring together the power of Innovation and R&D, explore new cooperation opportunities and find solutions to existing problems.

During the meeting, new cooperation models were discussed and solutions to existing R&D problems were sought. It was aimed to create a basis for more cooperation and interaction in the period after the meeting. It was stated that Bee2B University-Industry Cooperation Meetings will continue in the coming period. Company representatives from different sectors, academics from different departments of our university and 1773 ITU Technology Transfer Office employees attended the first of the Bee2B University-Industry Cooperation Meetings.

Strengthened university-industry cooperation

In addition to the Bee2B University-Industry Cooperation Meetings, a secure, fast, online and user-friendly website, ITU SANALTTO, was put into service at ITU. Through ITU SANALTTO, university-industry cooperation activities, fund and grant follow-up, technology commercialization activities and startup-corporation steps can be carried out online, quickly and easily without the need for a physical environment.

With the opening of ITU SANALTTO, a first in Türkiye, our university’s well-established academic experience, more than 500 test and analysis laboratories, and Design and Prototype Center providing a wide range of services came together under a single roof with the needs of industrialists, entrepreneurs and inventors. ITU SANALTTO aims to increase the efficiency of the meetings by contributing to Bee2B University-Industry Cooperation Meetings.
