ITU at 1st International Youth Science Congress
ITU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal attended the 1st International Youth Science Congress organized by the Meteor Club on September 1-2, 2024 at Ataköy International Youth Center.

Istanbul Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal attended the 1st International Youth Science Congress organized by the Meteor Club, founded by high school students from different cities of Türkiye, at Ataköy International Youth Center on September 1-2, 2024, and delivered a speech titled “We Succeed Together with Our Science and Technology-Oriented Young Human Resources”.

At the opening of the congress, which was held to encourage future scientists to scientific research and innovative solutions and to increase interest in science, our Rector Prof. Dr. Mandal emphasized that it is possible to overcome the difficulties encountered in human life with science-based approaches, pointed out that ITU brings youth and science together under the roof of qualified academic education, and said the following:
“As Istanbul Technical University, we encourage our undergraduate students to join clubs and project teams starting from the preparatory class. In addition, we attach great importance to our student clubs and project teams, which currently approach 300 in number and represent us in national and international arenas, and we provide support at every opportunity to our young prospective engineers to develop their production energy and social skills.”
Following our Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal’s speech, in which he shared the opportunities and support provided by TÜBİTAK and TEKNOFEST to young scientists in their adventure of developing living conditions of the future and producing solutions with science-based approaches, presentations were made about the projects of high school students in 12 different fields during the two-day congress.
